Bir Zamanlar Çukurova (Bitter Land) tells the story of Zuleyha and Yilmaz, a young couple in love. But soon, what was a beautiful love story turns into a dramatic love triptych, with the appearance of Demir.

Zuleyha and Yilmaz are madly in love with each other and plan to get married. But a tragic event will push them to flee Istanbul. Arriving by train in the region of Çukurova, they find refuge in a farm owned by the Yaman family.

In order to avoid more problems, Zuleyha and Yilmaz pretend to be brother and sister. 

Demir Yaman, the rich owner for whom Zuleyha and Yilmaz work, falls in love with Zuleyha. Yilmaz will end up being denounced and will find himself in prison.

Zuleyha, in order to save the man she loves, will sacrifice herself and agree to marry Demir.

The love of Zuleyha and Yilmaz will be put to a very tough challenge. The Bir Zamanlar Çukurova (Bitter Lands) series is a beautiful series to follow and reminds us of the sagas of yesteryear.
