The Turkish series The Ambassador’s Daughter (Sefirin Kizi) and the film Miracle in Cell N° 7 (Kogustaki Mucize) won awards at the third edition of the Izmir International Film Festival.
The two dramas, Sefirin Kizi (the ambassador’s daughter) and Miracle in Cell N° 7 (Kogustaki Mucize) are distributed internationally by Inter Media, which is the big winner of the competition.

Sefirin Kizi won a total of five awards at the Izmir International Film Festival whose awards ceremony took place online due to covid-19. The actors of Sefirin Kizi were able to thank their fans by posting messages on social networks. Voting was open to the public for more than a month and the winning series gathered votes from more than 150 countries.

Inter Media’s flagship series, which is currently broadcast on the Turkish channel Star Tv, continues to grow in terms of international sales and is currently distributed in many countries even though it only has about twenty episodes so far. The first season of Sefrini Kizi ended at episode 16 because of the covid crisis and the prolonged stop of series shooting in Turkey.

The other big winner of the Izmir International Film Ceremony is the film Miracle in Cell No. 7 (Kogustaki Mucize). This drama set in the 1980s in Turkey won 6 awards during the ceremony.
The film was a great box-office success when it was released in Turkey with more than 5 million viewers. The film was then available on the Netflix streaming platform where it reached an international audience and was quickly ranked in the Netflix trends. It even joined the Netflix top 10 in many countries.
During this third edition of the Izmir International Film Festival, the miracle film in cell no. 7 Kogustaki Mucize, won the prize for the best film of 2020. Actor Aras Bulut Iyenemli (Memo) won the award for best actor and Nisa Sofiya Aksongur, won the award for best child actor for the role of Ova.
